"Bringing the Healing Wisdom of Ayurveda to the West"

The CCA is dedicated to providing the highest quality education, health care, and research in the field of Ayurveda. We train our students to become the healers of the future; Ayurvedic practitioners dedicated to understanding the whole person physically, emotionally, and spiritually. From this understanding the Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist (CAS) identifies areas of disharmony between a client's actions, his or her constitution, and environment. Discerning how this disharmony relates to the disease (dis-ease), the CAS designs a program of care to reestablish harmony and support their client on his or her journey toward optimal health.

The Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist Program

Overview of the Curriculum

The Full-Time and Extended-Weekend curricula are exactly the same except for the organization of the schedule. Both programs offer the same three levels of Ayurvedic studies, incuding 384 hours for the first two Levels and 240 hours for the third Level.

The curriculum is divided into three major parts or levels. The first level is the Fundamental Principles and Practices of Ayurveda. The second level is the Clinical Study. The third level is the Clincial Internship. The first two levels are entirely academic, while the third level combines practical experience with clinical discussion and case management classes.

  • Level 1: Fundamental Principles and Practices
  • Level II: Clinical Study
  • Level III: Clinical Internship
  • Field Internship

The California College Of Ayurveda Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist (C.A.S.) program is offered in two formats:

  1. Held in four locations, our 27-month, Extended Weekend Program meets one three-day weekend each month, providing an ideal way for students to work while attending school.
  2. The 17-month Full Time Weekday Program which begins in April. in the South Bay Area and October in Grass Valley, offers students a more concentrated course of study.

Student Testimonials

Following are some of the many comments from our students and graduates:

"Studying Ayurveda has been one of the best things I have done in my life. Though I use my education from CCA professionally, it would have been well worth it for my own health, longevity, and growth."

S.D., October 1995 Class

"The C.A.S. program was the beginning of a transformation of consciousness. CCA offers the wisdom of a divine science to those wishing enrichment and understanding of the new paradigm of health emerging today."

J.G., October 1999 Class

"Every day in my Ayurvedic practice I am so very grateful and inspired by this wonderfully inclusive science and for the depth of training I received from the California College of Ayurveda.
